Residential Locksmith
A residential locksmith works on the locks around your home: front and back doors, garage entry doors, sliding doors, and sometimes mailboxes or interior locks. The most common call is a house lockout, but homeowners also call when a lock is sticking, a key no longer turns, or they want sturdier hardware.
We are not a locksmith company. When you call, we help connect you with an independent provider in your area who can discuss your situation and give you an estimate.

Common questions
In many lockouts a provider can open the door without damage, but it depends on the lock type. The provider will explain the options once they see the lock.
If your locks work well and you just want old keys to stop working, rekeying is often enough. If the hardware is worn or you want an upgrade, replacement may make more sense. See our lock rekeying page for more.
You can call for a lockout, but many leases require landlord approval for lock changes. Check your lease or ask your property manager first.
Each independent provider sets their own prices. Ask for an estimate before any work begins.
Many independent providers can. Mention the brand and your door type when you call so the provider can confirm.
